Open Letter to European Parliament Calls for an End to Destructive Biofuels Policies

Credit: Achmad Rabin Taim Almost 200 civil society groups around the world have published an open letter to the European Parliament, ahead of a vote on important reforms to EU biofuels policy. The letter calls on Parliamentarians to take action to restrict Europe’s demand for biofuels. Without urgent action, the EU’s biofuel demand will continue to force the transformation of vital forests, community lands and biodiversity hot-spots into industrial-scale, monoculture oil palm plantations.
