What information do we collect about you?

We collect basic contact information when you sign up to our mailing list directly here, via the biofuelwatch website or complete an e-alert through our platform on Do-Gooder and subsequently subscribe to our email list. Our mailman mailing list is maintained by Sheffield based Webarchitects Co-operative and only stores names and email addresses. Your details will be deleted if you subsequently unsubscribe by emailing biofuelwatch-request@email-lists.org with the subject set to ‘unsubscribe’.

If you have opted to volunteer with Biofuelwatch, for example to write letters to editors, then we will keep your contact details for that purpose, but give you the opportunity to be removed from our list at any time by emailing biofuelwatch@gmail.com.

How will we use the information about you?

We collect information about you to send you communications, including occasional newsletters and e-alerts, never exceeding 4 emails per month.

We also maintain a separate mailman list also hosted at Webarchitects Co-operative of volunteers and activists who have said that they want to get more involved and that they are happy to receive occasional more frequent and detailed emails. If you are one of those people then you will be asked to confirm your subscription to that separate list and given the option of unsubscribing at any time.

Where you have completed an e-alert we will keep details of your name, postal address and email address for a period of a maximum of one month, for our own web-monitoring purposes only, after which they will be deleted. If you sign a petition through our platform on DoGooder, then we will keep those details until such time as the petition is delivered to the addressee.

We never pass on your personal information to anyone outside Biofuelwatch.

You may unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time by sending a blank email to biofuelwatch-request@email-lists.org with the subject set to ‘unsubscribe’. Every email we send to the mailing list will contain information about how to unsubscribe from the mailing list.
