October 19, 2010

Second generation agrofuels are liquid agrofuels made from solid biomass, such as wood or straw. The technologies are still at the research and development stage. If they become commercially available, industrial tree plantations are expected to become a major feedstock. For general information, also see relevant chapters here and here.
