Open Letter on Biofuels and Food Security

Biofuelwatch, along with over fifty other civil society organisations, are calling on the UK government and the European Commission to end perverse incentives for biofuels at a time when food insecurity is becoming an increasing threat across the globe. This is particularly urgent given recent leaked policy proposals suggesting relaxed caps on crop-based biofuels, binding uptake targets, and acceptance of high-ILUC feedstocks in the EU's new fourth Renewable Energy Directive (RED IV).
