‘Stop Drax’s tree burning’ demonstration in London outside BEIS – Thursday 9th Feb at 1pm

If you’re in London on Thursday 9th February, please join Biofuelwatch, Axe Drax, the Stop Burning Trees Coalition and friends outside the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) at 1pm to demand an end to UK Government subsidies for Drax’s tree burning and harm to communities.

Did you know that the Government is giving over £2m per day in renewable subsidies from UK energy bills to the UK’s single largest carbon emitter & the world’s biggest tree burner, Drax?

Drax and the woody biomass industry are responsible for environmental racism, harm to forests, biodiversity and communities around the world.

We’re very excited to be joined by Reverend Leo Woodberry, an incredible environmental justice campaigner from South Carolina. 🤩 He has been vital to spearheading the campaigns against the destruction of forests and pollution of communities by the woody biomass industry.

Rev Leo Woodberry will be joining us at 1pm outside BEIS calling on them to stop funding Drax’s tree burning and pollution! He will be leading a prayer service outside Westminster Cathedral afterwards from 2.30pm and everyone is welcome!

You can find out more information about Thursday’s demo here and please email biofuelwatch@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Don’t worry if you’re not able to join the demonstration in person. We will be filming it and you can also take action by clicking the button below to call on your MP to stop subsidies for Drax’s tree burning.
