Green Investment Bank 2nd Birthday protest

A lively protest – complete with cake and burning trees for candles – took place to coincide with the Green Investment Bank’s 2nd birthday event, where the bank’s vision for 2020 was set out. We were calling on the bank to ditch its dirty and polluting investments in biomass and waste incineration, and in particular to steer clear of huge new biomass power stations proposed for Avonmouth and Teesside. You can watch the protest video, see photos and read our press release. For more information on the GIB and its finance for big biomass, see Banking on Big Biomass.
